You might look at the title and think, “Of course. I need wisdom in my life.” Proverbs 24:3-4 says, “By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures,” (NIV). Wisdom is what we use to build our lives. That wisdom comes from reading God’s word and seeking His guidance in our situations. It’s actually bigger than that. Verses 5 and 6 of Proverbs 24 say, “The wise prevail through great power, and those who have knowledge muster their strength. Surely, you need guidance to wage war, and victory is won through many advisors,” (NIV). War? That sounds a little intense. Even though it may not seem like it, every day is a battle against an enemy who doesn’t want you to succeed. The only way to build your faith and stand against the enemy is to “get guidance” by building wisdom. It’s not wisdom in war strategy, though. It’s wisdom in how to navigate the daily challenges to be victorious in our thoughts. The wisdom that comes from reading God’s word and spending time with Him is the only way to gain guidance and advice to navigate each day. We don’t know what situations will come each day. It can be easy to be caught off guard and enter a survival mindset. Make it a priority each day to fill your house (mind) with wisdom and thrive through your battles!
